AteMate is the latest feature in the Ate app, designed to enhance your mindful eating journey. Powered by AI, AteMate isn't a coach or a strict tracker, but a supportive friend that offers insightful feedback based on your food photo entries. Whether you're focused on journaling, personal growth, or long-term success, AteMate is here to make your experience more engaging and personalized.

Plus, it’s completely optional and respects your privacy, ensuring your data is secure and never shared without your consent.

How To Get Started with AteMate AI:

Enable AteMate

For the first time enabling AteMate, head to your last meal image > tap Enable.

OR

To enable AteMate, head to Profile > Settings > AteMate AI > toggle the switch to Enable Image Recognition.

How to go about using AteMate AI once it's turned on?

Add Your Food Entries

There's nothing that changes here. Take a clear photo of your food using Ate's camera and add it to your path. From here, AteMate will analyze it.

View Insights from AteMate

Whether that is looking through the insights that AteMate has provided about your meal, including a description, Macronutrient Estimates, "Eat the Rainbow" analysis, ingredients, Portions by Food Group, Notes, and Tags. You can view under Food Details for each meal separately. For example, graphs show the portions by Food Group of what you are consuming.

Review these additional food details to understand more about your meals and habits.

Remember, this AteMate AI is still in Beta, and it may make some mistakes here and there, and it can only tell what's in the food of what it can see. For example, a Chicago deep-dish pizza, it may not know what exactly is underneath it all.

Opt-Out of AteMate

If AteMate AI is not something for you, no worries. You can opt-out at any time. To opt out of AteMate, head to Profile > Settings > AteMate AI > toggle the switch to opt out of AteMate AI
