Ate is primarily a mindful food journal, but we understand that some people are also interested in tracking calories and macros.

To begin with, here's a great article from an Ate coach that shares about reading nutrition labels and how to build general awareness and mindfulness around them.

How to go about loosely tracking?

Notes & Day Recap

If this is something you want to do, there are ways you can integrate this into your Ate experience. For tracking calories or macros, you can use the notes section after adding a meal. This information will then be displayed on the day recap overlay.

Custom Questions and Answers

Alternatively, you can create custom questions with a more flexible approach. For calories, you could create ranges such as 100-200, 200-300, 300-400, etc. For macros, you can use emojis and custom questions for protein, carbs, and fats, categorizing meals as low, mid, or high in each macronutrient. Be creative!

While we emphasize the mindful aspect of eating, we recognize that tracking calories and macros can be helpful for some.
